Fall Family Session 2013 | Kansas City Family Photographer

It's about that time of year again. Fall is officially HERE!!!! :D and you know what that means... it's family picture season!! It's my favorite time of the year. That means boots and leggings and oversized sweaters and scarves. It means hot chocolate and lattes, apple cider and bonfires. It means snuggling up on the couch with loved ones while watching a movie. It's the time of year that is spent with family by our sides, and what better way to capture that than family pictures. They're awesome. The leaves are falling, the colors are changing. The snow starts to fall (i actually really love taking pictures in the snow but no one wants to bear the cold HA! even though i don't blame them, it would still be fun!) 

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not wait to book your family session for this fall. It doesn't matter if you want your pictures taken in late October or even in November, book NOW! That way, you're not stuck with no pictures, or even if you just make the cut off, at least book them so you know for certain that your pictures will be edited and back to you in time for Christmas and to get them on some Christmas cards. Some people will take this really lightly, and that's fine, but Fall is one of the busiest seasons for photographers. While everyone gets to spend loads of time with their families, we get to capture that :) So don't wait, or you might regret it. Book now, I can't wait for this season to begin. Fun, candid, un-posed, bonding, captured by me. That's something you won't regret: the memories. After it's all said and done, the memories are all you have left. You can't take back time, you can't change things that have already happened, but you CAN capture you and your family in the moment, doing what you love to do. 

I hate to even bring up this subject because it shouldn't ever be an issue: everyone is beautiful. Don't let the way you THINK you look, keep you from getting those memories captured, because like I said, when it's all said and done, you only have the memories. Who cares if you think you need to lose those 5 pounds, don't wait because life it too short. It can be taken from you in an instance. So do it before it's gone :)

I had the absolute best time with this Senior and her mom! They were so fun, weren't afraid to laugh and have a good time. That's all that I ever want out of my sessions is for my clients to have a good time and want to come back. :) Seniors have an awesome way of making a photographer feel good. For just a split second, no matter how much we love shooting families (i LURVE shooting families) it's sometimes nice to just be able to photograph one person. Interact with one person. Have fun, let them be theirselves. My absolute goal is to get them comfortable being in front of the camera. It's not as scary as it seems, I promise.

Isn't she gorgeous. Yes, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I get all the gorgeous seniors. mwahhahah :)
